You won't find the Allen Open on the PGA Tour calendar, but it was the premier event in Nixa Wednesday.

"It started a couple of years ago," Nixa graduate Chase Allen said. He transformed his yard into a nine-hole par-three course, invited classmates and coaches, and told them to "dress out."

"This isn't the Fun Acre Open," he says.

At the end of the day, he'd raised $232, which he says he'll donate to the Logan Middleton Memorial Scholarship fund. It was established to honor the memory of the Nixa student; he died in a car accident in November 2014.

"Logan would be out here playing with us," Allen said. "A lot of us were really good friends with him. It feels good that we can let him live on through us."
